It is observed that Jackfruit is grown in about 533 hectares in Udupi district, about 23000 tonnes of Nutritious superfood about 80% used to get wasted. The Cluster Development project was planned to hire Farmers and Entrepreneurs to transform jackfruit into various value added products to give direct and indirect employment to local youth , increase the income of local farmers and popularize the products so that many farmers get into jackfruit farming.
